Botox and Filler Injections

If you are looking for a little pick-me-up for your appearance, Botox® and filler injections are a great way to start.
Hyaluronic acids are smooth, long-lasting gels that have largely replaced collagen injections in recent years. They can fill in depressions in the face, whether they are smile lines, crow’s feet, “ice pick” acne scars or the nasolabial fold. The nasolabial fold is the crease that extends from the side of the nose to the edge of the mouth. They do not require allergy testing and generally provide soft, natural results in restoring the face to youthful contours. They may last from six to twelve months are are successfully used in almost all the areas of the face. Dr. Kinney has performed or monitored more than six FDA clinical trials for facial injections and is widely regarded as an expert and trainer in these techniques.
Botox® is a wonderful complement to collagen injections. It uses a chemical called botulinum toxin type A to relax muscles in the face. This chemical has been used many years for other medical purposes. Since Botox® targets the muscles, it is only effective on dynamic wrinkles caused by muscle movement. These types of wrinkles are found on the forehead, the eye area (crow’s feet) and even between the eyebrows. If you have an angry or tired expression, Botox can ease the muscles and relax these lines.
Collagen is a substance that has been used successfully for many years, but is rarely used now. If you are receiving collagen for the first time, you will be administered an allergy test to ensure you have no adverse reactions to this substance.
Injectable fillers and Botox® together can deliver an almost line-free face. If you are interested in these treatments, please contact Dr. Kinney for a consultation.
