Laser Resurfacing

Lasers can be used to treat wrinkles, scars, hyperpigmentation and rough skin texture. The CO2 laser is an ablative laser that gives very noticeable improvement. This type of laser cannot be used on darker skin types. The melanin or pigment in dark skin is sensitive and can scar or bleach easily. A non-ablative laser like the Nd:YAG can be used safely on all skin shades. A non-ablative laser bypasses the top layer of skin and targets the tissue below, making it a safer option for melanin-rich skin tones.
