Liposuction

A sleek silhouette can be yours through liposuction. With its ability to permanently remove fat and contour the body, it is understandably the most-requested plastic surgery procedure in the world. Yet, it is important to remember that liposuction is not an alternative to weight loss. It is used on fatty deposits of the body that have not responded to a patients’ dieting and exercise efforts. Common liposuction sites are the back of the arms, thighs, buttock and abdomen.

Dr. Kinney will use the appropriate form of liposuction depending on your individual situation. One method called tumescent liposuction places a mixture of saline and local anesthesia into the fatty tissue to be suctioned. Another type of liposuction Dr. Kinney is skilled in using is ultrasound-assisted liposuction. This form of liposuction involves heating and breaking down the fat tissue so it can be vacuumed out more readily.

Dr. Kinney has years of valuable experience in plastic surgery, including liposuction. To review his qualifications please take a look at the About the Doctor section. To learn about liposuction and if you would be a good candidate, schedule a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Kinney.

Tummy Tuck

Tummy tuck, also known as "abdominoplasty," is a popular procedure to gain a sleeker midsection. This is especially prevalent among women who have had children, because pregnancy can stretch and loosen the abdominal muscles extensively. A tummy tuck is a viable solution to this problem. Anyone with loose skin on the tummy or a protruding belly can benefit from this slimming surgical process.

Dr. Kinney can customize the tummy tuck to your needs. The length of the incision depends on the amount of excess skin present and other factors, but usually, it is made just above the pubic region. Underwear or bikini bottoms should hide your tummy tuck scar quite easily. Loose skin and underlying muscles will be tightened during the procedure. If you have a great amount of fat in this area, liposuction can be added to your tummy tuck to enhance the results. This procedure requires two to four weeks of recovery, but the outcome may definitely be worth your time. It is important to note that women who are planning on becoming pregnant may want to have their tummy tuck at a later time since pregnancy can reverse the effects of a tummy tuck.
