Scar Revision

Dr. Kinney is adept in minimizing the appearance of scars, which is known as “scar revision.” The type of procedure can be approached using different techniques. A skin flap can be donated from another part of the body and placed over the scar. Another technique called Z-plasty removes some of the rough tissue and relieves tension on the scar. Lasers can also treat unsightly scarring by encouraging the body to make new tissue while breaking down the old scar tissue.
